Lady Cards Secure 2nd Straight W!

Catonsville MD- The Lady Cardinal soccer team recorded their 2^nd straight win for the first time as they took down the Frederick Community College Cougars 1-0 on October 9^th 2025.

The Cougars and Cardinals were in a physical defensive battle throughout the afternoon as three cards were given in the game. The Cardinals with only 11 suited up, leaned on defense to pull out a gritty victory at home. The Cougars were able to keep the Cardinals at bay on offense, allowing 6 shots but only 2 shots on goal. However, that is all they needed as the 2^nd half pressure led to an own goal off of an Alexandra Wilson free kick. Hailey Gordon and Wilson were the two contributors of shots.

Defensively both teams picked up the pace as neither wanted to give in, keeping the first half clean at 0-0. The score remained at zero for 65 minutes until the aforementioned own goal  by the Cougars. Ten fouls occurred throughout the contest resulting in three yellow cards by Mia Ortega, Francesca Vacchelli, and Raven Miller each. Kennedy Conley led the way for the cougars with two shots goal.

The Cardinals home stand comes and goes as they are set for their next two on the road, starting October 14^th at Alleghany where they will look for a third straight win.
