Cardinals Offense Shines in Victory over Anne Arundel

In their most impressive offensive performance of the season, the CCBC Catonsville Cardinals' women's basketball team defeated Anne Arundel Community College 108-64 last Friday evening.

Three Cardinal players scored in double-digits as Catonsville overcame a back-and-forth start to record their eleventh win of the season.

The first two quarters saw the Riverhawks keep pace with Catonsville, even taking the lead early in the first quarter, Up 43-42 before the half, the Cardinals needed a boost of adrenaline. They got it from sophomore guard Tenea Robinson (Baltimore Poly Tech). Robinson hit a buzzer-beater from half-court to give Catonsville a four-point lead at the half. The energy of the shot rang throughout the second half, as Catonsville opened up a massive lead over the Riverhawks.

Catonsville's stingy defense did what they do best, grabbing 47 rebounds, 25 steals, and forcing 27 turnovers. The offense shined as well, scoring a season-high 108 points and shooting 53 percent from the floor. Every member of the Cardinals scored at least six points in the dominant victory.

Robinson finished with a career-high 33 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore guard Mya Franklin (Newtown) added a career-high six three-pointers and 24 points. Sophomore forward Jocelyn Fogle (Hammond) recorded a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore forward Kayla Cabbagestalk (Chesapeake) added nine points, seven assists, and seven steals.

Next up for the Cardinals is a matchup with Garrett College on January 17.
