Keyser, WV – The Cardinals hit the road on Tuesday to take on WVU Potomac State College. It was a tough day for Catonsville, who lost both doubleheader games by a score of 4-2 and 8-0.
Game 1
The offensive struggles started in Game 1. The Cardinals combined for just three hits and three walks as a team. Alana Watts was the only hitter to reach base more than once, tallying a hit and two walks.
Emily Fagan kept the Cardinals in it with six innings of work allowing just two runs, but the offense couldn't solve Chloe Greise.
Greise was fantastic for WVU Potomac State, throwing a complete game while allowing just two runs. She also struck out eight batters in the win.
Game 2
The struggles continued in Game 2 for Catonsville. The offense was shutout and generated just two hits and two walks. They continuously put the ball in play but simply couldn't find any gaps in the WVU defense.
Chloe Greise had another great performance for WVU Potomac State in Game 2. She pitched four shutout innings allowing just two hits and one walk, leading to her second win of the day. Lacie Miller pitched the final two innings, allowing just one walk and no runs.
It was a tough doubleheader for Catonsville, but they'll look to bounce back when they return home on Saturday against Allegheny College of Maryland.
