CCBC Catonsville's men's basketball team bounced back from their Monday loss as they defeated WVU Potomac State 101-84.
For the third time this season, the Cardinals dropped over 100 points in an offensive spectacle. Catonsville opened a nearly 20-point lead early in the first, then hung on as the Catamounts attempted a comeback in the second half. While Potomac State managed to outscore the Cardinals in the second half, clutch baskets by the Cardinals bench kept Potomac State from truly threatening the Cardinals' lead. The win pushes the Cardinals to 16-9 on the season.
Coming off the bench, sophomore guard Jo-Nathan Kelly (Strawberry Mansion) led the Cardinals in most statistical categories. Kelly scored 24 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Fellow sophomore guard Murray Grant (Obra D. Tomkins) added 13 points, while sophomore forward Albright Obode (Plainfield) scored 15 points and eight rebounds. Freshman guard Di'Quan Green (Carver Vo Tech) added 16 points, four rebounds, and five assists off the bench.
At 16-9, the Cardinals currently sit as the top seed with the Region 20 playoffs approaching.
