Cardinals Rebound with Huge Game 2 Win Against Chesapeake College

Wye Mills, MD – The Cardinals split a high scoring doubleheader against Chesapeake College on Sunday. They dropped Game 1 by a score of 19-9 in just five innings but bounced back in Game 2 to get a 19-7 win.

Game 1

The Cardinals jumped out to an early lead with a three-run first inning. However, the lead didn't last long thanks to a massive 10-run first inning for Chesapeake. The Skipjacks added six more runs in the bottom of the second, putting the game way out of reach for the Cardinals.

There wasn't a lot of good to take from Game 1, but the offense did manage to put up some runs. They scored nine runs in just five innings thanks to multi-RBI games from A.J Palumbo, Tyler Sankovich, and Sam Kelly.

Game 2

The Cardinals put up 19 runs of their own in Game 2 after allowing 19 runs in Game 1. The entire offense contributed in the win, with six hitters recording multi-hit games. Joel Tapia Melo led the way for Catonsville reaching base five times. He went 3-3 with two walks, a homerun, a double, and five RBIs.

Joel Tapia Melo was the focal point, but they also got significant contributions from other players in their lineup as well. Coby Vallee and A.J Palumbo both went 2-3 with two walks and three RBIs. Tyler Sankovich also reached base three times with two doubles and three RBIs.

It was a nice rebound for the Cardinals after a tough Game 1.
