Cardinals Offense Explodes in Doubleheader Win Against Allegheny County

Catonsville, MD – The Cardinals offense powered them to a doubleheader sweep against Allegheny County. Catonsville put up double-digit runs in both games, winning 12-3 and 11-1.

Game 1

A.J Palumbo and Joey Hurtado were the stars of Game 1. Palumbo was a one-man wrecking crew for the Catonsville offense. He went 3-5 with a double and a homerun, while driving in seven runs. Joel-Tapia Melo also had a great game going 2-3 with a homerun and three RBIs.

Joey Hurtado was fantastic on the mound, bouncing back after a rocky start. He allowed a three-run homerun in the first inning but dominated the entire rest of the game. He pitched a complete game for Catonsville while allowing just four hits and three runs. He was extremely pitch-efficient, throwing just 82 pitches in seven innings.

Game 2

Game 2 was very similar to Game 1. Great pitching and great hitting from the top of the Cardinals lineup. A.J Palumbo and Joel Tapia Melo were great once again. Palumbo reached base three times with two hits and a walk, while Tapia Melo had his second homerun of the doubleheader. He went 1-2 with the three-run homerun and two walks.

Clark Corlew was also great on the mound, getting his first win of the season for the Cardinals. He threw six shutout innings while allowing just three baserunners and one unearned run. He didn't get any strikeouts, but he did a good job getting quick outs. It took him just 74 pitches to get it done.
