Cardinals Fall to Daytona
Daytona, Fla. – The Cardinals dropped their third straight game to start the season against Daytona State College. After a close start to the game, Daytona pulled away in the later innings, leading to a 16-6 loss for Catonsville.
The offense had a solid game for the Cardinals which included RBIs from four different players. A.J Palumbo led the offense with two hits and an RBI. The only extra base hit for the Cardinals came from Lyonel Barthelemy, who plated two with a double.
It was a tough day for the pitching staff who threw just one shutout inning all game. This came from A.J Perry, who had an impressive inning of work, striking out the side.
It was an offensive explosion for Daytona who had five players with multiple RBIs. Chase Wilson and Holden Bradshaw led the way for the Falcons. Wilson had the only home run of the game and finished with five RBIs, while Bradshaw had four hits and three RBIs of his own.
The back end of the Falcons bullpen shut the door on the Cardinals with two shutout innings to end the game.
It was another tough game to start the season for the Cardinals, who fall to 0-3 on the season.
