CCBC Catonsville vs CCBC Dundalk Game 2 Recap

On Tuesday April 23rd, the CCBC Catonsville Cardinals hosted the CCBC Dundalk Lions in double header. In the second game of the double header the Cardinals would win in blowout fashion as they mercy ruled the Lions 10-0. 

In the first inning after a scoreless top half the Cardinals would get on the board first after a Tyler Sankovich (Laurel Highlands) single Nick Stergiou (Broadneck) would hit a double to score Sankovich then Nelson Grajales (Arundel) would hit a single to score Stergiou making the score 2-0. 

In the bottom second inning Gavin Faulkner (Edgewater) would lead off the inning with a walk then after advancing to second on a wild pitch with two outs Tank Kelley (Winter Park) would hit a single to right field to score Faulkner from third making the score 3-0. 

In the fifth after a couple of scoreless innings by both teams the Cardinals would get three runs from one swing of the bat. To start the inning Tank Kelley would single to center field then Nick Stergiou would also single to bring up Nelson Grajales who would smack a homerun over the left field fence to break the game open making the score 6-0.  

In the sixth after another scoreless inning, from Cecil Barone (Hereford) in the bottom half Joey Hurtado (The Villages Charter) would get it started with a single then Jake Long (Arundel) would be hit by a pitch then both Hurtado and Long would steal making it second and third and Tank Kelley would hit a sacrifice fly to score Hurtado then Long would score on a wild pitch then after Tyler Sankovich walked Trenton Synder (Oak Park) would single and make it to second on an error which also allowed Sankovich to score all the way from first then after Nick Stergiou walked Nelson Grajales would single in the game winning run to make the score 10-0 and the Cardinals would mercy rule the Lions and move their win streak to four and keep them as the second seed in Region XX.
