Cardinals Add Former Player as Assistant Coach

CCBC Catonsville is excited to announce another addition to our women’s soccer program. Join us in welcoming assistant coach Natalie Powell!

Coach Powell is the current club president of the Catonsville Cobras, having served in that capacity since 2017. She has worked with the Cobras since 2014 when she became the coach of their boys' team. Powell previously coached Catonsville Elite from 2015 to 2018.

Powell was head coach of Catonsville High School’s JV girls' soccer team from 2018 to 2021, winning a district championship with the team. Her prior high school coaching experience comes from a stint as an assistant coach for Pell City High School in Alabama in 1996.

Powell’s playing career has roots in Catonsville. After graduating from Old Mill High School in 1993, Powell played one season at CCBC Catonsville, earning All-Region and All-Tournament honors. She attended the University of Montevallo after Catonsville, becoming a school legend. Powell played from 1995 to 1998, receiving three coaches awards, a First Team All-Conference award, and an All-Tournament recognition. Powell leads Montevallo soccer in career assists, assists per match, and points per match, and was inducted into Montevallo’s Hall of Fame in 2004.

After college, Powell played professionally for the Alabama Angels of the USISL W League. She began coaching with her alma mater in 1998, serving two years as an assistant coach at Montevallo.

We at CCBC Catonsville are excited to have Coach Powell join the Cardinals growing women’s soccer program and look forward to seeing her work with new head coach Chris Johnson!
