Ariana Smith-Rodriguez Scores 4 in First Win of the Season

Catonsville, MD- Ariana Smith-Rodriguez led the Cardinals to their first win of the season.

Rowan College took the first lead of the game with a goal in the 18th minute by Alexandria Patitucci. It did not take long for the Cardinals to answer back with a score of their own.  Ariana Smith-Rodriguez had herself a day, scoring four goals, with three coming in the second half. Emily Mohammed also did her part in scoring two first half goals and now has three goals on the year. Smith-Rodriguez and Mohammed showed heart and determination which helped the Cardinals secure a 6-4 win.

Jenna Dade put up 10 saves, giving her 39 on the year with a .661 save percentage. The Cardinals will try to use this momentum going into the Frederick Community College matchup this Tuesday.

This win also gives head coach Karmo Bolay his first win as a college coach. As a former Cardinal, Bolay is optimistic in turning this women's soccer program into a winning culture.
