Cardinals Soar Over Bobcats in Dominating Victory

Catonsville, MD -- The CCBC Catonsville Cardinals women's basketball team triumphed over the Bryant & Stratton Bobcats with a final score of 61-56. While the final score suggests a close contest, the Cardinals led for the majority of the game, showcasing a strong defensive presence and efficient offensive plays. Catonsville's tenacious defense forced 28 turnovers, capitalizing on the Bobcat's offensive struggles. The Cardinals also demonstrated their dominance in the paint, out-rebounding the Bobcats 40-46. Despite a late push by Bryant & Stratton, the Cardinals held their ground, securing a well-deserved victory. Serafina Stubbs led the Cardinals with a double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Emily Bartlett contributed 14 points, while Jocelyn Fogle added 12. Maleyah Bell controlled the tempo of the game with 3 assists and added 7 points. However, their relentless defensive pressure and rebounding prowess proved to be the deciding factors in the game.

The Bobcats struggled to find offensive consistency, shooting only 32.9% from the field and 36.4% from the free-throw line. Destiny Perry led the Seahawks with 17 points, while Eunice Silong contributed 18 points and 21 rebounds. However, the high number of turnovers and lack of offensive support ultimately hindered their chances of securing a win.

The Cardinals are back tomorrow Tuesday, February 18th at Chesapeake College at 5 PM.
