Cardinals Triumph Over Allegany in 47-33 Victory

Catonsville, MD -- The CCBC Cardinals soared to victory yesterday with a final score of 47-33. While the final score suggests a comfortable win, the game was a hard-fought affair with the Cardinals overcoming a slow offensive start. The Cardinals capitalized on their opportunities at the free-throw line, making 9 of 16 attempts. Their relentless defensive pressure forced numerous turnovers, leading to fast-break opportunities that helped offset their shooting struggles.

Key contributors for the Cardinals included Jocelyn Fogle, who led the team in scoring with 16 points and dominated the boards with 15 rebounds. Maleyah Bell also put up a strong performance with 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals. Serafina Stubbs was a force on the boards as well, grabbing 9 rebounds while adding 10 points.

Despite their offensive struggles, the Trojans showed some grit on the boards, pulling down a total of 45 rebounds. Maylee Regan led the effort with 11 rebounds, also contributing 11 points to achieve a double-double. Lenasia McCants also had a strong presence on the boards with 7 rebounds.

Mariah Taylor was the team's leading scorer with 9 points, though she struggled with efficiency, shooting 2-8 from the field and 5-9 from the free-throw line. Turnovers proved costly for the Trojans as well, with the team committing 21 in total.

The Cardinals' strong defensive effort held their opponents to just 33 points, securing a decisive victory. The ladies are back this Friday against Prince George's Community College at the nest at 5 PM.
