Women’s Basketball Puts Up 100 In Dominating Win Over CSM

Catonsville, MD- After coming off a disappointing loss against Howard, the Lady Cardinals did not hold back against conference and region rival, College of Southern Maryland.

In a game with heavy and fast-paced offense, both squads put up impressive numbers in the weeknight contest. With a score of 100-90, Catonsville women's basketball was able to post a season-high in points scored.

In the first quarter of the contest, the score was an impressive 24 all. Once the half concluded, the score was rise to 50-44. The Lady Cardinals would help solidify their win with 56 rebounds, and 24 second-chance points.

Cache Waters led the team with an impressive outing. Waters put up 26 points, went 6-6 on free throws, and was 4-8 from the three. Waters is now third in the conference with a 39.0% in three-pointers. Her points scored is a career-high and bringing up her average PPG to 12. Akirra Pullen posted a double-double with 21 points scored and 16 total rebounds. Pullen, who did not begin the season due to injury, has put up at least 10 points in four of her five outings thus far. She is also averaging just under 12 rebounds per game. Tylea Galloway once again proved to be a dominating force for the Cardinals, putting up eight rebounds and 16 assists. Galloway is now at 80 assists on the season and is fourth in the conference with an average of 6.2 assists per game.

Catonsville looks to hit 10 wins on Friday, January 17th with a home game against the mighty 18-2 CCBC Essex Knights. Essex currently leads the MD Juco conference as well as Region XX. The game will begin at approximately 5 P.M.
