Columbia, MD- The Cardinals showcase their offensive prowess against the Dragons by launching 8 home runs during the doubleheader.
As the regular season wraps up, the Cardinals are looking to secure a top-3 seed going into the Region 20 tournament. Catonsville took the short trip to Howard on the 23rd, where they took care of business in dominant fashion.
In game one, freshman Makayla Elligson took the bump for the Cardinals, throwing 4 standout innings, allowing 6 hits and 4 earned runs. Emily Fagan came in to finish the game in the 5th, securing the Cardinals 14-5 win. Cassidy Barth led the offensive charge going 3-3 with a double, a home-run, and one walk. Alana Watts continued her strong season with two home-runs, and Kayla Musgrove notched one of her own. To add insult to injury, Watts and Ava Blum stole a bag during the contest.
In game two, Emily Fagan got another win to add to her resume. She threw 5 complete innings, allowing 7 hits, 4 strikeouts, and just one earned run. The offensive attack continued for the Cardinals, with Barth and Watts getting their second and third home runs of the afternoon. Sarah Devilbiss added a home run of her own, and Elligson launched her first of the season. The Cardinals took this contest 12-2.
The Cardinals will be hosting Potomac State on Saturday, Montgomery College on Sunday, to close out the regular season.
