Cardinals Struggle Against Caldwell Community College
Hickory, NC – The Cardinals struggled in their second game of the season, leading to a loss against Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute. It was a tough game for Catonsville, leading to a 12-0 loss.
The Cardinals offense was unable to solve Caldwell's pitching, leading to just five hits for the offense. Alana Watts had two hits for Catonsville, upping her total to five over the first two games of the season.
The pitching kept them in the game, with starter Emily Fagan holding Caldwell to just four runs through the first four innings. However, a rough 5th inning led to eight more runs for Caldwell, putting away the Cardinals.
With this loss, the Cardinals split their opening day doubleheader. They'll look to bounce back tomorrow against Patrick and Henry Community College.
