CCBC Catonsville's playoff run came to an end on Saturday afternoon as they fell to the College of Southern Maryland 17-1.
In a rematch of the previous day's quarterfinal match, the Cardinals fell behind 6-0 early and were unable to recover. The lone run for the Cardinals came from a fielder's choice that scored freshman catcher Hailey Seaton (Liberty). Southern Maryland's victory propelled the Hawks to the Region 20 championship, where the lost to Potomac State.
Despite the loss, the Cardinals have nothing to hang their heads about. They finish the 2023-24 season with a 24-16 record, finishing third in Region 20. With a talented freshman class returning for next season, the Cardinals should be a force to be reckoned with in Region 20!
