Freshman Start Their College Careers at Goucher College XC

Freshmen Aaron Lippman and Angel Ross run first college race

Sept 2, 2024 - Towson, MD

The 2024 cross-country season started off on Friday, August 30th at the Baltimore Metro XC hosted by Goucher College. With the graduation of seniors Keynaud Randolph and Ethan Bush, Coach Pryor was looking to fill the void for the men's team. A welcomed addition in 2024 is the addition of in-coming freshman Angel Ross who will help ignite the women's cross-country program.  For Coach Pryor, this first meet was to see where everyone's fitness level is after the summer.

But what CCBC Catonsville XC/T&F lacks in quantity, it makes up in quality with two new exciting and talented freshman.

Cross-Country may not be their best season, but both freshmen Aaron Lippman (Parkville HS) and Angel Ross know exactly what they are looking to gain from the Fall training - a solid base of strength training that will pay dividends in their Track seasons.

Both Lippman and Ross specialize in the 800m event which combines both speed and endurance. It is considered one of the toughest events in all of T&F. So this Fall, both freshman look to gain the much needed strength to compete against NCAA Division-I and Division-II caliber athletes.

The Baltimore Metro 5k XC meet showed a small glimpse of the team gaining strength from this summer's training.

Aaron Lippman came to CCBC Catonsville with a 5k best of 20:25 from HS. At Goucher College Lippman ran 19:04. While his classmate Angel Ross ran a solid 22:13 for her 5k race.

CCBC Catonsville next cross-country meet will be September 28th at Dickinson College (PA).
