Five New Athletes are added to CCBC Catonsville’s Track and Field Program, One New Cross-Country Signing

Catonsville, MD- Head coach Mark Pryor is proud to announce the addition of five new student-athletes to his track and field program, one of which will also be competing in his cross-country program.

Tyler Dixon (Pictured- Top Left)

Track & Field Head Coach Mark Pryor is pleased to announce the signing of Tyler Dixon from Owings Mills High School.  Tyler is the first men's signee for the incoming 2021 class.  Coach Pryor is very excited about Tyler joining the team as well as him coming to train with current CCBC Cardinal middle-distance athletes JP Magambo and Ryheim Hall. Tyler competed primarily in the middle-distance events which includes 800 meters, 1600 meters as well as Cross Country.  His personal best time in the 800m was achieved at last year's outdoor 2A Maryland State Championships.

Tyler Dixon only competed in T&F and XC for 2 years at Owings Mills HS but the potential his performances illustrated are endless.  "I've watch Tyler run in Baltimore County for the last two years and he improved every time he steps on the track. I can't wait until he joins our 800m training group and receives a more specialized workout program", stated Pryor.

Cameran Dent (Pictured- Middle Right)

The men's Track and Field team has received a signed Letter of Intent from Randallstown High School student-athlete Cameran Dent for the 2021 incoming class.  T&F head coach Mark Pryor was excited to receive the news.

Cameran has been the epitome of hard work and dedication in his athletic performances in high school. Each year he has improved his times and placings at the county, regional and state events.  Cameran wisely sees T&F as a way to further his education.  Coach Pryor is pleased that he chose CCBC Catonsville.  "Cameran had a very good recruit visit and understands what he can do for our team and what CCBC Catonsville can do for him", stated Pryor.

Garland Hurt (Pictured- Bottom Right)

CCBC Catonsville T&F Head coach Mark Pryor is very excited to announce the signing of Patterson High School senior Garland Hurt to the 2021 incoming class.  Garland competed in the 100m, 200m and long jump events in high school.

Garland was a MD Indoor T&F State Indoor Championship finalist in the 55m dash and a key member of Patterson HS's 4x100 and 4x200 relays both indoors and outdoors.  Coach Pryor believes that he has the talent and potential to qualify for the National Junior College Championships in several events. "Garland has so much range that he can run events from 100m - 400m and be successful. We are not going to rush his development and make sure he runs on a high level", stated Pryor.

Kilik Carlest (Pictured- Top Right)

CCBC Catonsville will be fielding a Men's & Women's Cross-Country team in the Fall of 2021.  Head coach Mark Pryor announces his first cross country signee as Dundalk High School senior Kilik Carlest

Kilik competed in both cross country and T&F at Dundalk HS for three years and brings with him a passion for running and the drive to learn and excel.  Coach Pryor sees him as a vital piece of the puzzle when building a team.

"We are delighted to have Kilik join our team. He can help us both in cross country and in Track & Field", stated Pryor.

Brionne Taylor (Pictured- Bottom Left)
CCBC Catonsville Women's T&F head coach Mark Pryor is pleased to announce the signing of Brionne Taylor from nearby Woodlawn High School.  Brionne is the first T&F signee for the Women's incoming class.

Brionne competed primarily in the sprinting events as well as the long jump at Woodlawn HS.  She was also a key contributor on their relays.  Coach Pryor is excited about building the women's team and adding more depth.

Woodlawn HS has a rich tradition in Track and Field in Baltimore County having previously won 10 county titles indoors and outdoors, several regional titles and at least two State Championships and two Runner-up plaques.  Current CCBC Catonsville T&F head coach Mark Pryor previously coached at Woodlawn HS from 1999 - 2010.

Coach Pryor continues to build the team for 2021. The Men's & Women's Track and Field team has now signed five (5) high school seniors to Letters of Intent for the 2021 incoming class. The great news is all current team members will be returning next fall since this past 2020 Spring season was cancelled by the NJCAA due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).  The future is looking bright. Please stay tuned for more news pertaining to the Track & Field team as Coach Pryor continues to build a team of talented student-athletes capable of achieving national-level performances.
