Cardinals lose 2-1 to Owls in Region 20 Tournament

Largo, MD- The CCBC Catonsville men's soccer team faced a tough 2-1 loss against Prince George's Community College on October 10, 2024. The Cardinals and Owls first meeting resulted in a 7-1 Owl victory, but the Cardinals were not handing over the win that easy this time. Giovanni Alonso opened the scoring early in the 3rd minute for Catonsville, assisted by Michael Muchai, but PGCC responded with goals from Perez Hengoue in the 63rd minute and Jerson Chirino in the 84th minute. Catonsville's goalkeeper Atendem Fuamazah recorded 1 save, while PGCC's Jairo Caceres had 1 save in the match, helping his team secure victory. Despite their early lead, Catonsville was unable to hold off PGCC's attack, who took the win with superior ball possession and well-timed finishes.

The loss in the Regional Tournament ends the Cardinals season, and they posted a 5-10-2 overall record (4-6-2).
