Men's Soccer Game Preview: Hagerstown

After a long Labor Day weekend, the CCBC Catonsville Cardinals men’s soccer team is ready to resume its season! This week begins with the Cardinals taking on Hagerstown in a crucial match. Can Catonsville break its three-game losing streak? Here is everything you need to know before tonight’s game!

Opponent: Hagerstown Community College Hawks

Location: Hawks Soccer Field, Hagerstown, Maryland

Time: 4:00 PM

Records: Catonsville - 1-3, Hagerstown - 0-3

Scouting Report: Hagerstown enters today’s match looking for their first victory of the season. The Hawks came close to victory in their last game against Lackawanna, falling 4-2. The Hawks' defense has been a major issue for them, as they have allowed 13 goals in three games. The offense has only scored three goals all season, with sophomore Amadu Jalloh responsible for all three.

Catonsville will look to get the most out of their offense for this match. After struggling to score in two of their last three, the Cardinals found the net twice against Harford. Sophomore striker Mike Miranda (Lansdowne) leads the Cardinals with two goals, while freshman forward Mykal Hogan (Boys Latin) has amassed three assists. Catonsville’s offensive turnaround coincides with a slight defensive stutter. After holding two of the best schools in Region 20 to a goal a piece, the Cardinals allowed four goals by Harford last Thursday. If the Cardinals want to break their losing streak, shoring up the defense will be the primary objective.

Last Meeting: Hagerstown and Catonsville last played in 2021, where the Hawks defeated the Cardinals 2-1.
