Cardinals beaten in Columbia by Monroe U

Columbia, MD- The Cardinals suffered a tough 85-59 road loss to Monroe University. Lance Porter was the leading scorer for the Cardinals with 15 points while Karris Scott followed with 13 points. Micah Morgan and Kamren Hayes were also in double digits with 10 points each. Scott also added six rebounds and six steals showing his effort despite a tough loss.

The Cardinals were limited to just 6-31 shooting from the three-point line and just 9-19 from the free throw line. Monroe showed to be the more physical team throughout, outrebounding the Cardinals 61-29 with 17 offensive rebounds. Monroe also had a strong presence at the free throw line shooting 26-37.

Monroe was led in scoring by Devere Palmer Jr with 19 points, as three others joined him with double digits. Both Palmer Jr, and Ryan Williams Jr secured double doubles with 11 and 12 rebounds respectively. The Cardinals won in turnover margin, however gave up too many rebounds and free throws which allowed for the Express to pull away with a big win.

The Cardinals next contest is Dec 14th at Community College of Beaver County.
