Cardinals Fly In Brunswick Tournament Opener

Brunswick, NC- The CCBC Men's Basketball Cardinals started off with a win in the Brunswick CC Pre-Thanksgiving Classic over Wake Technical CC. The Cardinals started off hot winning the first half by 16 points. Wake CC came out hot in the second half winning the half by 13 points, but that ultimately wasn't enough as the Cardinals hung on for a 74-71 win.

Lance Porter led the Cardinals in scoring with 17 points. Karris Scott and Wendell Tomlin joined Porter as double-digit scorers with 16 and 15 points. Scott also added 9 rebounds to the box score, while Micah Morgan led in assists with 7. Wake's Mervin Hope led them in scoring with 20 points and he also added 13 rebounds. The Cardinals three-point defense was the difference in this one as they held Wake to 21 percent from behind the line.

This was the Cardinals first of two contest in the Brunswick Pre-Thanksgiving Classic as their next contest is Nov 24 against Brunswick CC.
