Basketball Game Preview: Jamestown Community College
On Saturday, December 4th, the CCBC Catonsville Cardinals men's basketball team is set to face off against the Jayhawks of Jamestown Community College. Here is everything you need to know before Saturday's 7:00pm tip-off!
Opponent: Jamestown Community College Jayhawks
Location: Jamestown, New York
Time: 7:00PM
Team Records: 3-5 (Catonsville), 3-6 (Jamestown)
Scouting Report: Jamestown Community College is led by third year head coach Xavier Churnac. The Jayhawks enter their clash with CCBC Catonsville with a 3-6 record on the season. The Cardinals will have to look out for Jayhawks freshman Jared Martin (Springfield Commonwealth Academy) and 6'8" tall sophomore forward Traden Gray. Martin has averaged just over 14 points per game so far this season, also averaging over two assists per game and five rebounds per game. Gray himself has averaged 12 points per game through nine games, averaging six rebounds in the same span.
The Cardinals are coming off a very convincing win against a struggling Northern Virginia Community College team. Sophomore guard Keith Bullock (Cardozo) had an outstanding return after missing the previous game, recording 16 points and six assists, while sophomore forward Christopher Johnson (St. George's High) and sophomore guard Jalen Yates (Baltimore City) recorded season highs for points scored with 15 and 14 respectively.
On paper, this looks to be a very exciting contest. In their last meeting, the two teams were neck and neck throughout the game, with the Cardinals eventually pulling away halfway through the second half. The Jayhawks did cut the lead to just three points with a minute left in the game, but Catonsville would ultimately finish strong and take the win.
Last Meeting: November 19, 2021. Final Score: Catonsville 74 – Jamestown 66
