Cardinals Snap Three Game Losing Streak
On February 15, the CCBC Cardinals took on rivals CCBC Dundalk, coming out victorious 93-70.
After coming off a tough loss on Monday to Howard Community College, the Cardinals looked to get back to winning ways on the road against rivals CCBC Dundalk. The Cardinals snapped their three-game losing streak, winning 93-70.
In the first quarter, the Cardinals would start off strong, scoring seven points within the first three minutes of the game, thanks to a Jalen Yates (Baltimore City High School) three-pointer, a Christopher Johnson (St. George's High School) layup, and a Keith Bullock (Cardozo High School) layup. More Cardinals would get into the scoring mix early with Austin Smith (Randallstown High School) and Darrian Jones (St. Frances Academy) adding to the Cardinals total with 16 minutes left in the half. A Maurice Smith (Newton High School) free throw would put the Cardinals up 25 points, 35-10, with four minutes left to go in the half. The Cardinals would go into the halftime break up 43-20.
In the second half, the Cardinals would continue with their success on offense, with Keith Bullock hitting two three-pointers, within two minutes. A Maurice Smith layup would grow see the Cardinals take a 30-point lead, 62-32, with 12 minutes left to go in the half. Kaleb Gray (Friendship Collegiate) would score the final points of the game for the Cardinals to put the Cardinals up 93-68. The Cardinals would find themselves victorious as time expired, 93-70.
The Cardinals leading scorer was Keith Bullock, who scored 19 points to go along with nine rebounds and six steals. Jalen Yates finished with 16 points. Maurice Smith finished with 11 points and nine rebounds.
The Cardinals are now 11-15. Their next game is away against Harford Community College on February 21 at 7pm.
