Cardinals Prepare for Playoffs

Playoffs Looming 

With the regular season coming to an end, the playoffs for Region 20 baseball are set! After months of hard work and dedication from both players and coaches, it's time to battle it out to be crowned the best! Catonsville finished 2nd in the East Division with a division record of 19-15. 

Catonsville Outlook 

Catonsville barely edged out Anne Arundel Community College for the 2nd seed in the East, beating them out by 1 game. Catonsville will play the winner of the game between Southern Maryland and Anne Arundel CC at Chesapeake College. Catonsville split the season series against AACC 2-2 and won the season series against Southern Maryland 3-1. It won't be easy, but Catonsville has beat both teams before and will be looking to do it again against whoever they play.   

The East  

The East Region seeding is the following. 1 – Chesapeake College (21-11), 2 – CCBC Catonsville (19-15), 3 – Anne Arundel Community College (18-16), 4 – CCBC Essex (17-17). 5 – Cecil College (17-17), 6 – College of Southern Maryland (10-23). The East is balanced with not many games separating the 1 through 5 seeds, only being separated by 4 games. It should be a very competitive battle for the top of the east.  

The West 

 The West Region seeding is the following. 1 - Frederick Community College (29-7), 2 – Garret College (25-11), 3 – Hagerstown Community College (23-13), 4 – Allegany College of Maryland (21-15), 5 – Montgomery College (11-25), 6 – Community College of Allegheny County (9-27). The West is top heavy, featuring Frederick CC and Garret College who both have 25+ wins in the region. Frederick is the favorite, but anything can happen during playoff baseball.
