Cardinals Bounce Back in Game 2 Against Garrett College

Catonsville, MD – The Cardinals played yet another close game against Garrett College in Game 2 of their doubleheader on Tuesday. Despite a late rally, the Cardinals were able to hold on to win 9-8.

It was a strange game, with Catonsville scoring nine runs on just five hits. The difference in this one was the plate discipline by the Cardinals. They managed to draw 12 walks, capitalizing on the iffy command of Garrett College's pitching staff. Damir Simon and A.J Perry each had three walks, including two run-scoring walks for Perry.

Jaedan Kelley had another solid offensive performance for Catonsville, recording two of their five hits as a team. He's been a great table-setter out of the leadoff spot, hitting .419 and scoring 12 runs in the first nine games of the season.

Garrett College made this game interesting despite the pitching struggles, scoring two runs in the fifth and three runs in the sixth. Angel Oquendo was the star offensively for Garrett, finishing with three hits and three RBIs. He had a two-run homerun and RBI double in this one.

The Cardinals will look to build off this win when they take on Prince George's Community College on Saturday.
