CCBC Catonsville vs Allegany College of Maryland Game 1 Recap

On April 6th, the CCBC Catonsville Cardinals hosted Allegany College of Maryland Trojans in a double header. In the first game of the double header the Cardinals would come back to win in the late innings 5-4 and move the winning streak to ten games. 

In the 3rd inning, after a couple of scoreless innings from both pitchers the Trojans would get on the board first with a 3-run homer. As the cardinal's offense continued to get shut down by the Trojans pitcher. Then in the 6th inning, the Trojans scored another run, making it 4-0 going into the seventh inning. 

In the 7th inning after a scoreless inning by Sean Driscoll (Audubon) to keep the Cardinals in the game the Cardinals offense showed some signs of life. After a single by Alex Valdez (Blair) and double by Joey Hurtado (The Villages Charter) Elijah Charlot (University Christian) would single to right center to score Valdez from third. Then Tank Kelley (Winter Park) would single to score Hurtado from third. Then after Tyler Sankovich (Laurel Highlands) walked Trenton Synder (Oak Park) would come through and single to left field to score Kelley then Nick Stergiou (Broadneck) would reach on and error by the third baseman and that would score Sankovich to tie the game at 4-4 and we are going to extra innings. 

In the 8th inning, after a scoreless inning by Andrew Bubon (Lake Brantley) Gavin Faulkner (Edgewater) would single then get to second on an error by the second baseman then Virgil Watson (Archbishop Curley) would come off the bench to pinch run. Then Alex Valdez was intentionally walked, and Joey Hurtado would sacrifice bunt to move the runners to second in third. Then after a walk by Elijah Charlot with the bases loaded and two outs Tyler Sankovich would single up the middle to score Watson from third to win the game 5-4 on a walk off and come from behind win. This would make the Cardinals 17-9 overall and 10-0 in Region XX play also they are on a ten-game winning streak.
