The Cardinals swept the Wolfpack in a doubleheader over the weekend

Game 1: Wolfpack 11 (1-4), Cardinals 13 (6-4). WP- Travis Fullerton (1-0), LP- Noah Sweeney (0-1)

 

  • The Wolfpack started off the game hot in the top of the 1st inning by scoring on a wild pitch and then hitting a 2-run homerun. In the bottom of the 1st inning the Cardinals scored one run by walking in a run from a hit by pitch. 3-1 Wolfpack
  • In the 2nd inning the only run scored was a double from the Wolfpack. 4-1 Wolfpack
  •  The Wolfpack scored a bunch of runs in the top of the 3rd inning by scoring 2 off errors, 1 from stealing home, and 2 singles that brought in 2 more runs. The Cardinals answered back in the bottom of the 3rdinning by scoring two on a couple of singles and a 3-run homerun. 9-6 Wolfpack
  • The Cardinals took the lead in the bottom of the 5th inning by scoring 1 run on a fielder's choice, 2 from walks, and 2 from an error. 12-9 Cardinals.
  • The Wolfpack scored 1 run on a fielder's choice and the Cardinals scored 1 run off a single in the 6thinning. 13-10 Cardinals
  • The Wolfpack scored 1 run off a single. 13-11 Cardinals

 

Game 2: Wolfpack 7 (1-5), Cardinals 8 (7-4). WP- Julian Fuller (1-0), LP- Matt Wicker (0-1)

 

  • The Wolfpack started off the game by scoring the first run on a single to center field in the 1st inning. The Cardinals scored a run from an error in the bottom of the 1st inning. 1-1
  • No more scoring happened until the 3rd inning when the Wolfpack brought in 3 runs off of 2 singles. The Cardinals answered back by scoring 3 of their own of a single and a 2-run homerun. 4-4
  • The Cardinals scored 2 runs from a single and the Wolfpack only scored 1 run from a single in the 4thinning. 6-5 Cardinals
  • The Wolfpack tied the game by scoring a run off a double in the 5th inning. 6-6
  • The Wolfpack took the lead in the 6th inning off a solo homerun. 7-6 Wolfpack
  • The Cardinals tied the game in the bottom of the 7th inning off a single and walked off on a walk. 8-7 Cardinals.

  • Aronne Dutton went 4-7 on Saturday with 4 hits, 5 runs and an RBI.
  • Wyatt Moore went 4-7 as well with 4 hits, 7 RBI's, and 3 runs.
  • Chris Pizarro went 2-5 with 3 RBI's, 2 hits, and 2 runs.
  • Austin Galda came in and shut the door in the first game to get the save.
  • Julian Fuller pitched a scoreless inning in the second game to get the win.
