Women's Soccer Overmatched Against Essex

Falling behind early is something that has hurt the Cardinals all season. Tuesday's game against Essex was no exception as Catonsville found themselves trailing 3-0 seven minutes into the contest. The defense buckled down for the remainder of the first half allowing just one more goal and trailing 4-0 at halftime.

Essex was hungry for more though, and added another six goals in the 2nd half to finish off the 10-0 defeat of the Cardinals. Kara Dietrich led the way for Essex scoring the team's first six goals in just 50 minutes of play.

The best chance for the Cardinals offense came when Arianna Smith-Rodriguez broke away from Essex defenders and had a one on one chance with the goalie but her shot was saved to keep Catonsville scoreless. Jenna Dade continues to impress in goal adding 18 more saves to keep her exceptional season going.

The Cardinals will be back in action on Tuesday, October 8th at 4:00 PM as they host the College of Southern Maryland.
