Cardinals Cruise to Doubleheader Sweep Against Montgomery College

Rockville, MD – The Cardinals offense carried them to a doubleheader sweep against Montgomery College on Sunday. Catonsville scored an unthinkable 27 runs in their Game 1 win, while also taking Game 2 by a score of 12-1.

Game 1

The pitching struggled for both teams in Game 1. The game was tied 9-9 by the end of the third inning, but the Cardinals pulled away with eight runs in the fifth, two runs in the sixth, and eight runs in the seventh.

The entire lineup produced for the Cardinals, with five players tallying at least four hits and four hitters with five RBIs. Alana Watts and Sarah Devilbiss each had a pair of home runs and drove in five runs each. Emily Fagan had four hits including three doubles and five RBIs as well, while Madison Krupiewski had five hits of her own including a double and a triple. The production went on and on for Catonsville, leading to a 27-12 victory.

Game 2

Game 2 was a much more well-rounded performance from the Cardinals. They continued their loud offensive production with 12 more runs and 15 hits, but they also allowed just one run and four hits. Emily Fagan settled in nicely for the Cardinals, pitching all five innings while striking out three batters. She also went 2-2 with an RBI and a walk at the plate.
