Chrissy Jordan Tosses No-Hitter as Lady Cards Dominate Garrett

Catonsville- It was a dominant performance for the Lady Cardinals in their double header against the Garrett Community College Lakers, with the team winning by a combined score of 23-0. The Lady Cardinals came prepared to play on both sides of the ball, getting ahead early offensively, while preserving the shutout defensively.

Game 1

In the first matchup of two, Marissa Heuer led the Cardinals from the mound, throwing for 5.0 innings, striking out 12 batters, while only allowing one hit for the entire game. Heuer was untouchable from the bump, striking out 75% of the batters that she faced on the day. Heuer maintained the tone she set offensively as well, finishing the game 2-2 with a single, a double, and knocking in two RBIs.

Alexa Holderfield (2), Hailey Manning (2), Leah Propst (2), Chrissy Jordan, and Casey Turner all added to the Lady Cardinals scoring as well, as the team seemed to be putting it all together after a frustrating performance against Cuyahoga.

Game 2

Chrissy Jordan picked up where Marissa Heuer left off for the second leg of the double header and she pitched a gem. Jordan went for the full 5.0 innings, striking out half the batters she faced (8), only allowing one opponent to leave the batter's box from a walk. While Jordan couldn't finish off the perfect game, she was able to preserve her no-hitter and her standout performance allowed the Lady Cardinals to power through the Garrett Lakers.

It was another productive game offensively as well, with the Lady Cardinals scoring all twelve of their runs in the first two innings. Alexa Holderfield's three RBI performance led the Lady Cardinals for the game. Jamie Smith (2), Leah Propst (2), Madeline English, Casey Turner, Marissa Heuer, Akirra Pullen, and Kelsey Smith all brought in runs for the team as well.

Catonsville will look to ride this momentum for Friday's double-header against Lakeland Community College. The Games will be played at 3:00 and 5:00 PM and anyone interested can follow the live-stats for the matchup in real time!
