Women's Basketball Coach Stretch Brandon Steps Down

Catonsville, Md. [April 4, 2024] – Community College of Baltimore County Catonsville Athletics today announced Morris 'Stretch' Brandon is stepping down as head coach of the CCBC Catonsville women’s basketball team after a five-year tenure.

Brandon joined the Cardinals as an assistant coach in 2018 before being elevated to head coach in 2019 as the thirteenth head coach in program history. In his five years as head coach of the Cardinals, Coach Stretch led the Lady Cards to 58 wins and three playoff appearances. He is the winningest coach of the program since its return in 2015.

Coach Stretch's final season with the Cardinals was his most successful. His team won a program-best 22 games, won their first playoff game in program history, and made it to the Region 20 championship. It will be remembered as one of the most exciting and magical seasons in the Cardinals' history.

 

“I would like to thank Coach Stretch for his service to CCBC Catonsville,” said CCBC Catonsville Athletic Administrator Leslie Wray. “He stepped in as head coach at a very critical time in this program’s history, and we are thankful for his dedication and commitment. Under his leadership, the program reached new heights in Region 20. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

 

Assistant head coach Senteria Renwicks has been named interim head coach of the Cardinals.
