Robinson and Townes Lead Cardinals over Skipjacks

CCBC Catonsville continued their defensive dominance on Wednesday, defeating Chesapeake College 74-55.

The Cardinals once again held an opponent to under 60 points, scooped up 22 defensive rebounds, and forced 15 turnovers. On offense, sophomore guard Tenea Robinson (Baltimore Poly Tech) and sophomore forward Dasia Townes (Baltimore Poly Tech) led the way with 32 and 21 points respectively.

The Cardinals started off slowly, trailing 12-9 after the first quarter. In the second, Catonsville's defense held the Skipjacks to just five points, while the offense unloaded 24 of their own. From there, the Cardinals controlled the pace of the game and slowly pulled away from Chesapeake.

Robinson finished with 32 points, her fourth 30+ point game of the season. Robinson also added six steals and three assists. Townes scored 21 points and six rebounds, while sophomore guard Mya Franklin (Newtown) added seven points.

Next up for the Cardinals is a match with Beaver County on February 2.
