Robinson Drops Career High as Cardinals Fall to Niagara

CCBC Catonsville's women's basketball team dropped their second game of the season on Saturday, falling to Niagara County Community College in the first round of the Thunderwolves Classic.

Despite a career day from sophomore guard Tenea Robinson (Baltimore Poly Tech), the Cardinals' defense struggled to stop Niagara in a 74-69 loss.

Things started slow for the Cardinals, as they were held to single digits until the closing minutes of the first quarter. While offensively, the Cardinals were able to score at will against a struggling Niagara defense, Their defense struggled as well. Trailing 47-33 at the half, Catonsville finally began to shut down the Thunder Wolves' offense. The Cardinals outscored the Thunder Wolves 36-27 in the final quarters and got within three points of tying the game with a minute to go. However, a crucial steal by Niagara iced the contest, and the Thunder Wolves pulled away with a series of free throws.

Robinson finished the contest with 32 points, a new career-high and the most scored by any Cardinal this season. Sophomore forward Dasia Townes (Baltimore Poly Tech) added 15 points, seven rebounds, and three assists, while sophomore forward Jocelyn Fogle (Hammond) had six points and seven rebounds.
