Women's Basketball Recap: Monroe College

On Saturday, November 4th, the Lady Cardinals took on the Monroe College Mustangs in their home opener as a part of the CCBC Dundalk Mixer. Monroe College was coming off a winning season last year, and previously defeated Catonsville 91-69. The Mustangs are a tough opponent and Catonsville had to play to their best abilities in order to win this difficult home opening matchup.

The game was very back and forth, as the teams traded buckets for the entirety of the first half. Both teams had very aggressive offensive styles which allowed them to drive consistently to the basket. They entered halftime with a score deadlocked at 28.

The second half was exactly what you expected, as this game went down to the wire. Sophomore guard Tenea Robinson had an outstanding 23-point performance that pushed the Lady Cardinals on top to defeat the Monroe College Mustangs 60-55. In an impressive home opener, the Lady Cardinals look to continue their win streak this weekend against Camden on Sunday, November 5th.
