Women’s Basketball Suffers First Defeat of the Season

A slow start was too much for the Lady Cardinals to overcome Saturday afternoon vs. Harcum College. After trailing by nine to end the first quarter, Catonsville picked up their play in the second quarter and cut the deficit to just four at the half. The second half was all Harcum, as they held the Cardinals to just 10 points in the third quarter, and would go on to win the game 91-76.

The offense struggled for CCBC as their shooting percentage was held to 31.5% on the afternoon, and 24.3% from beyond the three point arc. Tylea Galloway continues to dominate for the Cardinals as she notched another double-double, finishing the game with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists. Nakiyah Johnson also continues to be a force down low adding 19 points in the contest. Harcum was led by Mikala Williams and Autumn Cathcart who combined for 53 of their team's 91 points.

This was day one of a two day mixer hosted by Catonsville that includes these two teams as well as Union County College and sister school CCBC Essex. CCBC Essex would go on to defeat Union County 80-66 in their first game of the mixer.
