Catonsville, MD-The Cardinals start their season with a well-earned win in the season opener. They jumped out to a quick 14-3 lead in the 1st quarter of Friday night's game and would not look back from there. Every quarter was won by Catonsville with the exception of the 4th on their way to an 85-67 victory.
Tylea Gallaway put on quite a performance for the Cardinals, finishing with 13 points, 14 rebounds, and 9 assists, leaving her just one assist shy of a triple-double. Nakiyah Johnson's play off the bench was also key for the Cardinals as she dominated the paint putting up 20 points and 9 rebounds on the night. As a team, the Cardinals outrebounded rowan 53-46 and scored 16 more points in the paint.
The team will look to make it two consecutive victories when they host Potomac State on Saturday, November 9th, at 3 PM.
