Basketball receives awards from Maryland JUCO Conference and Region XX

CATONSVILLE, Md. – The Maryland JUCO Conference and NJCAA Region XX announced their postseason honors for Women's Basketball earlier this month, with the CCBC Catonsville Women's Basketball team being well represented in both lists.

The Lady Cardinals went 16-12 in 2018-19 under first year head coach, Marcus Wood. They were seeded #2 in the Region XX tournament and finished among the Top-4 records in the Maryland JUCO Conference.

Chante Weedon was named First Team All-Region by Region XX and First Team All-Conference by the Maryland JUCO Conference. The freshman from Frederick, Maryland led the team with 21.7 PPG, shooting over 50% on the season.

Myah Savage was named Second Team All-Region by Region XX and Second Team All-Conference by the Maryland JUCO Conference. The John Carroll School product averaged 18.1 PPG and led the team with 4.2 assists per game during her freshman season.

Akirra Pullen was named Honorable Mention by Region XX. The Timonium, Maryland native collected 13.3 rebounds per game during her freshman season, and scored 13.5 PPG with a field goal percentage of 49.1.

The Lady Cardinals went 16-12 in 2018-19 under first year head coach, Marcus Wood. They were seeded #2 in the Region XX tournament and going 9-3 in the conference which was tied for fourth.

Jordan Tucker from the Men's basketball was named Honorable Mention by Region XX. The sophomore averaged 12.6 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game.
