Savage scores 500th point on Sophomore Night

Catonsville, MD-It was a night of celebration for the Lady Cardinals on Tuesday, as the team honored injured Forward Theresa Sherrill for Sophomore Night, and Myah Savage for scoring her 500th point on the season.

Tuesday's matchup was the Lady Cardinals' last regular season outing and the game served as the team's annual Sophomore Night. Theresa Sherrill, the only sophomore on the team, was able to contribute to the Lady Cardinals' seventh regular season win in a row as squad continues to play great team-basketball.

The team was able to get out in front early on in the game and stay there, winning every quarter in the matchup. It wasn't just scoring that the Lady Cardinals dominated this game, and the team was able to find an edge in just about every statline, allowing them to preserve their lead on both sides of the court.

Sophomore Night wasn't the only cause for celebration on Tuesday, as our very own Myah Savage scored her 500th point on the season thanks to a game-high contribution of 28 points. Savage reached this impressive feat on a three-pointer with less than a minute to play in the game. Savage has been no stranger to scoring this season, averaging 18.5 points per game and proving to be a reliable option for the Lady Cardinals all season.

Other major contributors this game were Chante Weedon with 23 points and 7 steals and Akirra Pullen who was two points shy of yet another double with 8 points and 12 rebounds.

The Lady Cardinals will hope to stay hot as they look ahead to the Region XX DII Tournament, which will be played on March 7th at Cecil College.
