Catonsville Stuns Potomac State in Nail Biter

Catonsville, MD- The Lady Cardinals traveled to Keyser, West Virginia yesterday looking to advance to 15-11 and maintain their second seed in the region.

With the end of the season approaching, Catonsville knew that the last away game was an important one.  Going into the match-up, the team possessed an 8-2 record on the road. The Lady Cardinals would need to solidify their already immensely successful season with two final wins. They would do just that by edging out Potomac State 82-81.

The Lady Cardinals remained consistent throughout the game as they averaged just about 20 points a quarter and posted a 43.2% on their field goals.  The team would also record an impressive 57 rebounds- outshining Potomac State's 34.

Chante Weedon would account for 24 of the team's 82 points, making her the leading scorer for Catonsville. Myah Savage would be not too far behind, delivering 21 points on the evening along with seven assists.  Akirra Pullen once again led in rebounds- this time with 18. Diamon Lewis would deliver a double-double for the Cardinals with 19 points and 14 rebounds.

With Thursday's win the Lady Cardinals advance to 15-11 overall, and 9-3 in the conference.  With one game left to play in the regular season, they have their sights set on the region tournament in March, at Cecil College.

Catonsville will host Northern Virginia Community College in their final game of the season on Tuesday, February 26th, at 5pm.
