Lady Cardinals Lose Overtime Thriller In 2019 MDJUCO Tournament

Catonsville, MD- The Lady Cardinals could not keep up with Frederick Community College, losing a nail-biter in overtime with a final score of 85-89.

The Lady Cardinals traveled to Hagerstown for the 2019 MDJUCO Women's Basketball Tournament, but could not get passed the Quarterfinals despite an excellent team performance. This loss snaps a five game win-streak in which the team had been red-hot, leaving a lot of room for optimism that they will finish out the season strong.

Leading the charge for the Lady Cardinals was Chante Weedon with game-highs of thirty-one points and eight steals. Akirra Pullen and Jasmine Johnson both pitched in double-doubles and

Myah Savage contributed a solid twenty-one points. Unfortunately, these efforts would not be enough for the team to overcome a solid-outing from Frederick.

The team can hold their heads high, knowing that they played a great game against the higher-seeded Cougars falling just short of advancing to the Semifinals where they would have taken on the #1 seeded Harford Community College.

The Lady Cardinals will close out the regular season by traveling to Potomac State College of WVU on the 21st before hosting Northern Virginia Community College on the 26th. The team will look to get back on a roll before they try to compete in the Region XX DII Tournament in early March.
