Turner, Pullen, Propst, Manning, Heuer, and Holderfield Receive All-Maryland Juco Honors

CCBC Catonsville is proud to announce that six of their softball players have been selected to All-Maryland Juco first team and second team.

 

Casey Turner (SS): All-Maryland Juco First Team

Alleshia Pullen (OF): All-Maryland Juco First Team

Amy Propst (DP): All-Maryland Juco First Team

Hailey Manning (Utility): All-Maryland Juco First Team

Marissa Heuer (P): All-Maryland Juco First Team

Alexa Holderfield (C):  All-Maryland Juco Second Team

 

Casey Turner was a standout shortstop for the Lady Cardinals this season. She ended her season with a .529 batting average which was first in the conference and fourth in the nation. Turner also posted seven home-runs, conference leading 63 RBI's, six triples, and 70 runs scored. She was also selected as NJCAA Division II player of the week (April 2). Alleshia Pullen is a second-year center-fielder with outstanding range and an outstanding bat. Pullen posted a .456 average, was second in the conference with 9 home-runs, and plated 38 RBI's. Amy Propst was selected to first-team as the designated player. Despite missing a few weeks due to injury, Propst put up a .472 average, .569 on-base percentage, and smashed six home-runs. Hailey Manning was the Lady Cards first baseman for the last two years and put up an impressive sophomore season. Manning was second in the conference for batting average with a .514, which was also sixth in the nation. She also plated 48 RBI's, and a .587 on-base percentage that was also sixth in the nation. Marissa Heuer was the ace pitcher for the Lady Cards this year. Heuer posted the conference leading 1.55 ERA and 21 wins. Her 150 strikeouts would place her second in the conference. At the plate, Heuer would post a .388 batting average, second in the conference with 57 RBI's, and tied for third in the conference with eight home-runs. Alexa Holderfield split her time between catcher and outfield for the Cardinals, and would provide a big presence at the plate as she was selected for second team. Holderfield put up a .471 average, 26 doubles, tied for third in the conference with eight home-runs, and was third in the conference with 50 RBI's.
