Big day for Cardinals Softball

Sunday, April 22 the Lady Cardinals Softball team had a beautiful day to celebrate our sophomore student athletes (Sarah Heagy, Stephanie Yarrish, Erin Muir, Kelly Krizmanich, and Alexis Sann) as they took on a talented alumni squad from years past that has more All-Conference, All-Region, All-American honors, and wins than you can easily count.

The Lady Cardinals were able to edge out the Alumni 12-11 in the end, but the scoreboard didn’t matter, all sides had a wonderful experience. Head Coach, Chuck Slater was able to pull together alumni last minute when the team that was supposed to play the Cardinals canceled. In true Cardinal fashion, his former players answered the call.

At the end of the day alumni were acknowledged, sophomores were given a token of appreciation from Coach Slater as they were honored and the team was able to welcome five future Cardinals that were present to sign their NJCAA Letter or Intents (Akirra Pullen, Marissa Heuer, Christina Jordan, Jessica Whitehead, and Casey Turner).

The annual sophomore picnic followed with great food to match the festivities of the day.

What a great day to be a Cardinal!
