Muir and Heagy Named NFCA All-Americans

Muir and Heagy Named NFCA All-Americans

Yesterday the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) announced the 2018 All-Americans. Sophomores Erin Muir and Sarah Heagy were named to the Second Team. Catcher Muir batted .515 this year with 19 extra base hits, a .697 slugging percentage and 39 RBI's, while anchoring the team behind the plate in every contest this season. Muir battled through an injury last year that kept her from behind the plate, but due to her tenacity in rahb on the off season she was a valuable DP for the squad in the 2017 season. Heagy, starting thirdbase and pitcher, led the team in batting .603, with 23 extra base hits, a .794 slugging percentage, and 36 RBI's. Heagy appeared in 20 games on the mound for the Cardinals, starting in 12 games. She finshed the season 11-3 with a 2.31 ERA.
