Westminster, MD- The CCBC Catonsville Cardinals secured a dominant 4-1 victory against Carroll Community College, powered by a stellar performance from Tolulope Balogun, who scored twice in the game.
Carroll struck first in the 14th minute with a goal by Daniel Wojtkowiak, assisted by Armando Armand. However, the Cardinals quickly responded, with Balogun finding the back of the net in the 28th minute, assisted by David Nwachukwu, to level the score at 1-1.
The Cardinals took control just before halftime when Michael Muchai scored an unassisted goal at the 38th minute, putting Catonsville up 2-1.
In the second half, Balogun continued his impressive play, scoring his second goal in the 57th minute off an assist from Muchai, extending the Cardinals' lead to 3-1. Muchai sealed the victory with another unassisted goal just three minutes later, making it 4-1.
Goalkeeper Atendem Fuamazah was solid between the posts, recording two saves on three shots. The Cardinals outshot the Lynx 17-16 and earned six corner kicks, compared to Carroll's two.
The win brings CCBC Catonsville's record to 3-5-0 as they look to build on this momentum for their next game on Saturday, where they will face the Potomac State Catamounts.
