On Saturday, October 21st, the Cardinals traveled to the College of Southern Maryland to face the #3 seed Hawks. Catonsville entered the first round of the Region 20 Division II NJCAA playoffs off of a great second half of the regular season. Southern Maryland has been at the top of the division all season, making them one of the most consistent and toughest teams to beat.
This was a tall task for the Cardinals, who put up a great fight in a defensive battle against the Hawks. The game was only one to nothing at the half, with a couple shots from each team. After a back-and-forth second half, the Hawks netted two late goals to secure the win. After a very resilient year, the Cardinals season came to a tough end.
This team has a lot to be proud of, as the Cardinals tripled their win total from the previous season and are going to be a great team next year with key returners such as Bradley Ramirez, Mykal Hogan, Franklin Duarte, Gio Guerrero, and Miguel Figueroa.
