Men's Soccer Preview: College of Southern Maryland

The CCBC Catonsville Cardinals men’s soccer team is home this week as they take on the College of Southern Maryland! Here is everything you need to know before tomorrow’s game!

Opponent: College of Southern Maryland

Location: Murray Stadium Field

Time: 4:00 PM

Records: CCBC Catonsville – 5-7-2, College of Southern Maryland – 8-4-2

Scouting Report: The College of Southern Maryland enters the game as the number four ranked team in Region 20. The Hawks have a great team, and their record reflects it. Their offense consistently puts up around 15 shots per game, so the Cardinals are not just going to have to defend, but also match their offensive production as well. Despite the Hawks standing being much higher than the Cardinals, they have an almost identical schedule. Southern Maryland had very similar wins against Carroll, Hagerstown, and tied NOVA. Both teams also lost to Harcum, Harford, and Frederick. The two teams are separated by a couple of close wins that put Southern Maryland at the top of the table, so don’t count out the Cardinals just yet.

Catonsville’s defense is going to busy tomorrow to say the least. Caleb Akano (Lagos, Nigeria) must lead “The Big Red Wall” in this tough matchup against Southern Maryland. As always, the offense is going to have put up at least a few goals in order to win the contest tomorrow. In what should be an evenly matched game, Catonsville has a great chance to pull off an upset and claw their way back to the top of Region 20.
