Essex Takes The Win In the Battle Of CCBC's

For the third straight game the Cardinals are held scoreless while being defeated 2-0 by CCBC Essex. It was a fairly even first half until Essex's Sam Adunah broke the tie in the 34th minute by racing past Catonsville's defense and found the back of the net to give the Knights the 1-0 advantage.

The Cardinals came out attacking in the 2nd half and saw one of their best opportunities early in the half. Off of a corner kick, defender Dario Campbell was in great position but his header sailed just wide of the goal. Just moments later Adunah would come down the field again for Essex and score his second goal of the night to give the Knights some breathing room with a 2-0 lead.

The Cardinals would put two shots on goal in the second half but failed to convert on these opportunities. The defense kept Catonsville in the game only allowing the two goals and goalkeeper Austin Werner would contribute five saves on the night.

The loss brings the Cardinals overall record to 5-8-1 on the year. The team will be back in action on Tuesday, October 8th, at 6 PM as they will play host to the College of Southern Maryland and look to put an end to this three game skid.
