Arnold, MD- Despite a strong defense, the Cardinals were shutout Friday night by the Anne Arundel Riverhawks 3-0.
Coming off a tough 1-0 loss against Montgomery Tuesday evening, Catonsville was ready to head back into the win column against Anne Arundel.
Despite goalies Anthony Maseda and Austin Werner combining for a total four saves from seven shots of goal, the Cardinals would not be able to put up a goal against the previously 3-3-1 Riverhawks. Muhammed Maroof and Iliass Zouita both attempted shots on goal, however the Riverhawks goalie managed to save all three of the attempted shots.
The Riverhawks would score their first goal in the 31st minute of the contest, while their two other goals came later in the matchup within the 69th and 78th minutes, respectively.
With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 5-7-1 on the season. They will be hosting sister campus CCBC Essex this coming Tuesday at 6:30PM.
