Cardinals Snag Third Straight Win over Garrett

CCBC Catonsville's men's basketball team wrapped up their third-straight win last Wednesday, taking down Garrett College 86-68.

With two players scoring double-doubles and five total players scoring in double-digits, the Cardinals enjoyed one of their best offensive productions of the season.

Catonsville led by just one point heading into the half, but came out of halftime on fire. The defense held the Lakers to just 28 second-half points, recording 10 steals and forcing 21 turnovers.

Meanwhile, the offense could not be contained, as the Cardinals scored over 80 points for the fourth time in their last five games.

Sophomore guard Murray Grant (Obra D. Tompkins) led the Cardinals with 26 points. Sophomore guard Jamal Lee (Cristo Jesuit) finished the night with 14 points, five rebounds, and five steals. Sophomore forward Albright Obode (Plainfield) scored a double-double with 19 rebounds and ten points. Also scoring a double-double was sophomore guard Jo-Nathan Kelly (Strawberry Mansion) who added ten points and eleven rebounds. Sophomore forward Jason Ogbolu (Calvert Hall) came off the bench to add ten points.

Next up for the Cardinals is a match with Allegany College of Maryland on Saturday, January 27 at 3 pm.
